We’re looking for a future sales director for one of the fastest growing digital / ecommerce technology businesses in the UK.  Working with direct customers and through partners this organisation has built a new generation of e-commerce technology platforms that are highly effective, cost efficient and backed up by best of breed support services and technology expertise.  They are also a company that has serious funding and a growth strategy that could see this BDM move in to a Sales Director role in the medium term.

Excellent salary and uncapped bonus, plus other benefits makes this a rare role for a Senior Sales Manager / Business Development Manager working in Solution Sales (SAAS), Digital / Web or e-commerce or retail systems.


As the Business Development Manager you’ll be helping our Client to deliver complex and innovative digital ecommerce solutions to our target market sectors in the UK.  We have a configurable and scalable platform designed to make the complex business processes surrounding B2B online ordering easier and more accessible to end users. This platform is designed to incorporate market beating features with the very latest technology and a very open architecture. They also have a very cost effective solution for mid market ecommerce which is platform agnostic and readily supportable. Our Client is part of a technology group of companies that are one of the UK’s leading technology and life event data businesses, they’ve now grown a product set to the extent that they are looking for a Business Development Manager to manage the UK territory. Selling to businesses of varying sizes you will be comfortable describing 'the art of the possible' as well as being able to demonstrate value to prospective customers. As we cover the whole country you may either be home based or situated in either of our main Nottingham or our Milton Keynes offices.


  • Design and Implement a Customer Acquisition Strategy that focuses on Revenue Growth into new and existing markets

  • Identify new market and opportunities

  • Arrange and attend business meetings with prospective clients

  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives

  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers

  • Customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction

  • Work with the delivery team to ensure a smooth transition into projects

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role

  • Proven sales track record

  • Experience of B2B sales (ideally in ecommerce)

  • Ability to build rapport

  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Ability to cultivate channel partnerships

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
