IT Support Engineer

About the business:


Our client are a Microsoft Gold Partner who provide Enterprise services & solutions across the EUC stack, infrastructure and cloud. As a high growth managed service provider and they have fostered an enviable relationship with Microsoft.

With this growth set to continue, they are looking to further expand their Support team at various prestigious clients in Central & Greater London 

As a business they put employee development at the heart of everything they do, offering opportunities to attain Microsoft Certifications with clear career progression into senior infrastructure positions and even consulting further down the line for the right people.

Responsibilities will include 2nd / 3rd line customer facing technical support, system upgrades, maintenance and documentation. The successful candidate will be working as a senior member of a busy support team, will be required to provide support to customers either from our clients offices (phone / remote access) or by visiting our clients various customer sites in the Greater London area.




  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

  • Ability to function well under pressure.

  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work on their own initiative

  • Able to create and develop technical documentation

  • A full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points

Demonstrable experience of configuring & troubleshooting the following:


  • Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Printers and Computer peripherals.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 to 2012,

  • Microsoft Windows XP to Windows 10,

  • Microsoft Office 2010 and above

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and above

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP

  • SMB Routers, Firewalls, L2/L3 Switches



Installing, configuring, managing and troubleshooting the following:

  • Microsoft Azure Cloud

  • Voice/Video communication - Polycom preferred

  • Telephony/VoIP systems

  • Managed Switches (HP, Cisco)

  • Routers, Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, HP),

  • Citrix XenApp, Xenserver

  • Vmware Vsphere

  • VMware View

  • Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Microsoft Lync server

  • VPN technologies

  • Cisco Ironport

  • SAN storage - EMC preferred

  • HP ProLiant Servers and Storage solutions

  • Veeam, PHD, Arcserve

  • Certification in any of the technologies listed above
