Maintenance Manager (CNC) - Permanent position, Nottingham based


EMBS are working in partnership with an established precision engineering company that is located in Nottingham and are one of the market leaders in manufacturing complex, high precision components for a number of industries including Aerospace.

Our client is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join the business on a permanent basis and specifically work within the CNC machine shop area.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the equipment and machinery is available for production, resolving any issues in a timely manner and managing the performance of the maintenance department whilst controlling costs, maintaining inventory levels and striving to exceed productivity expectations.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvement and expansions
  • Communicate directly with the operations department and co-ordinate maintenance and repair work in the process areas
  • Co-ordinate activities with Plant Operations department 
  • Monitor operation of plant machining equipment and systems
  • Conduct employee performance reviews
  • Ensure all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated versions of the operating procedures
  • Establish and maintain a computerised maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Review the operation of plant equipment ans systems constantly, minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance 
  • Supervise maintenance personnel


Successful candidates MUST be able to demonstrate:

Strong Maintenance background

  • Held previous senior roles - Senior Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Manager positions
  • Previous CNC / machine shop background experience 
  • Sound man management skills with the ability to lead, adapt, motivate and inspire
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work effectively for both yourself and your team
