PRODUCTION MANAGER WANTED - PERMANENT, LANCASHIRE

 

Due to a fantastic expansion and transformation of the business, we are currently looking for a skilled Production Manager to join our partner's growing precision engineering business in Lancashire.

The business has been around for over 20 years and has developed some fantastic relationships with some of the industries most lucrative customers.

Our client is a specialist in manufacturing complex, precision components through various machining and fabrication processes.

Operating in various markets including Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear and others, our client is able to offer an established yet challenging environment for individuals looking to develop / enhance their career.

This company has grown significantly over recent years and is currently in their 2nd year of a 5 year plan where they are on course to achieve over 30% increase in turnover.

To give you a quick insight into what you will be doing on a day to day basis:

>Managing the machining sector within the Aerospace or Automotive cell

>Delegating work to skilled staff and making sure all the target's/KPIs are hit each week/day

>Building a strong relationship with the customers and the staff in order for the productivity to be fully maximised

>Working closely with some of the most prestigious customers in the UK & Globally

>Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets

>Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department

>Motivate and coach the team to operational success

>Provide technical expertise to the team

>Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems

>Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.

 

Successful candidates MUST be able to demonstrate:

> Strong production manager experience within a precision engineering sector

> Strong management skills

> Ability to set and achieve weekly production targets

> Ability to work closely with key customers

> Ability to use ERP systems for stock control

> Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing processes

> Knowledge of Six Sigma / Kaizen processes

> Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 accreditations
