Are you a manual software tester keen to get experience / exposure to automated testing or a Developer who would like to work in a mixed Dev/Test role with automation? 

Our Client has grown dramatically this year and the growth shows no signs of letting up. As developers of one of the largest and most complex software products in the world, this monster product / platform is revolutionising processes and changing the way large scale international organisations operate. 

Developed within an Agile environment, this large Development team uses the Microsoft stack to build software components that require extensive testing, manual and automated.  As they head in to 2019 they are looking for two QA Testers to work on testing projects that offer manual testers an opportunity to get in to automated testing and for those with automated experience an opportunity to take ownership of testing project work. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years manual tesing experience and a desire to work with automated testing tools. You will thrive in a highly collaborative environment, applying a variety of methodologies and techniques, working with Software Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance to build revolutionary software solutions.

Any experience of  development/coding experience ideally in either C# or Groovy would be beneficial but not essential as training and mentoring will be provided by another automation engineer who can assist you develop your skills by assisting in the testing effort.

Please note this is NOT the traditional ‘automate the UI with Selenium’ kind of role. The strategy here with automation is to assist the manual effort by creating tools for data creation, guiding the manual effort based on evidence from automation and generally adding value across the team.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong technical aptitude, product common sense, and curiosity combined with a genuine love for products, people, and user experience.

  • Well-versed in software testing disciplines and principles with a keen sense of when to choose the right tool(s) for the job.

  • Advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices. 

  • Have strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.

  • A mature and professional individual who is self-motivated and enthusiastic. Able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment.

  • Able to prioritise work and tasks under pressure.

  • Expert eye for detail and consistency; no detail is too small or insignificant.

  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders. Ability to handle conflict effectively.

  • Ability to build, implement and direct quality assurance principles and maintain quality of delivery.

  • Excellent collaborative skills.
