EMBS are in partnership with a leading, well established precision engineering company that have earned there reputation in the market by being a specialist in manufacturing complex components for a number of industries including Aerospace.

Supplying customer world-wide, our client is experiencing some significant growth and therefore is in the market for a talented Quality Inspector / Technician to join their business on a permanent basis, located in Birmingham.

The purpose of the role is to liaise with the Inspection Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Quality Manager and Engineering to ensure support on production parts and NPI, First Off, Manual & CMM Inspection. Also an oversight of Release Inspection, Receipt Inspection and Non Conformance activities.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • To carry out 1st off Inspection (CMM / Manual) / receipt inspection / inspection & calibration activities as required to support operations

  • Running CMM program’s; analysing and recording results and making appropriate quality decisions

  • Maintaining the integrity of CMM programs ensuring programs are maintained and stored correctly

  • To conduct TPM and Calibration regimes to ensure CMM is capable of accurate and consistent measurement

  • To support the internal non-conformance process; raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured 

  • To liaise closely with Engineering to ensure the smooth transition of new products – New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Completion of FAIR data requirements by means of CMM / manual inspection


Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:


  • Strong Quality Inspection experience
  • Previous experience of working within precision engineering environments on detailed machined and / or fabricated parts
  • Understanding of PCDMIS software
  • Ability to carry out manual quality inspection techniques and activities using various measuring equipment such as; verniers, micrometers, calipers etc.
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Stability & Longevity: Permanent position

Hourly rate: £13 per hour + shifts

Shifts: Nights - 7am - 7pm Monday to Thursday (48 hours per week)
