Infrastructure Specialist - Tooling/Automation/Architecture/Transitions
Nottingham Upto £60,000 (DOE)
Our client is a multi award-winning UK IT service organisation and Microsoft Gold Partner with a client portfolio across enterprise public and private sector. Your role will be to provide first-class infrastructure delivery and support to new client transitions, new delivery architecture requirements and infrastructure projects as well as 4th line support, all within a variety of cloud, infrastructure, monitoring/service automation and new client needs.
This is an exciting new position that for the right person can see you develop into a purer architecture role or even carve your own future in a hybrid mix of infrastructure led projects, architecture, and support.
You will define requirements and strategically pinpoint areas where the organisation can become more effective and efficient around infrastructure processes and procedures.
Be documenting changes, incidences and requests via management tools from internal or client requirements.
Communicating and building relationships with the Head of Infrastructure, CTO/Architects and Engineers from both the in Managed Services and Professional Services teams to share and discuss ideas around technical transformations, designs and transitions.
Have the opportunity to get involved with design work, automation tooling for the infrastructure support service and even the architecture for new projects.
Experience of identifying solutions and defining standard processes and procedures and ideally some exposure within an enterprise environment.
Having technical knowledge & experience of Microsoft Cloud & Server Platform (Legacy or hybrid Platforms), Virtualisation (Hyper-V/VMware), Tooling Solutions (SCOM & SolarWinds), SCCM, Intune, MDM and Windows Networking.
Able to build a rapport with different stakeholders from C Level to Engineers.
Knowledge of Tooling and Automation around services and methodology for best practice monitoring and infrastructure support.
Ideally, you will also have come from a technical infrastructure background with project and even design/architecture experience as well as the ability to understand support, tooling and automation of infrastructure support as part of a service.
Our client also support certifications providing vendor qualifications across a whole breadth of technologies including Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMWare, and for the right person and experience will pay up to £60,000, however, candidates looking to develop at a lesser level of experience will also be considered.
